The History of Swaleview Park
Swaleview Park is ran by husband and wife team Andrew & Eileen Carter. Andrew inherited the site from his late Father, who first rented it from a local farmer in the late 1940's. Andrew's father was himself a Swaledale man farming the land at nearby East Applegarth. He bought the caravan park site in the 1960's, setting it firmly in the Carter family.
Below are some postcards and photos Andrew & Eileen have depicting the caravan parks history. The 1916 postcard shows the Swaleview area long before the park existed. The back of the postcard shows the old stamp with a kings head. The number 16 beneath the kings head leads us to believe the card was posted in 1916.
